Music is a universal language. I love classical music thanks to my son's violin lessons that I sit through. If you close your eyes, the music tells a story. I hated it and tried to hide among students when the music teacher was looking for me to pay Thammattama (Sri Lankan Oriental Drums below) in the school choir in the morning assembly. Now I must thank my parents for keep encouraging me to learn music.  In a way, music is an engineering process that, if you compose your own tunes, it is a product. My son is in Suzuki Book 8 and performs in the New Haven Youth Orchestra which is good. The pinnacle I reached was the substitute lead drummer in the rear band of the school bus.
